MOTORCYCLE SCOTLAND

MOTORCYCLE SCOTLAND AND FIND OUT WHAT BIKING IS REALLY ABOUT
Had a few spare days last week so decided a mini trip to Scotland was in order.
Set off Wed heading for Largs but the throttle cable snapped passing through Ayre.
RAC did a great job of making a new inner cable and we set off for Largs on Tues morning.
Took the A78 from Ayre, what a fantastic scenic road, watch out for the speed cameras and hidden police cars though.
Found accommodation in Largs and went for a walkabout and beers.
This is a great little town with loads of bikers staying overnight or just passing through. Good friendly atmosphere great food and good fun in the local pubs.
Took the A 8 to Erskine Bridge then the A82 up to the top of Loch Lomond then cut across to Arrochar for fuel, well worth the detour to see the coastline scenery.
Headed back through Glasgow to pick up the the M74 down to Moffatt.
Stayed overnight, what a great place for bikers, met up with 20 bikers that were staying in the Buccleuch Arms Hotel that have bike lock up garages, discount rooms and food for bikers.

Next day took the A708 to Selkirk passing St Maries Lake, don’t miss this road it’s a fantastic ride!
Cut across to the A68 and down through the Northumberland National Park, another great road, (don’t miss the café at Scottish Borders) Stayed overnight in Corbridge, yet again another great place for bikers.
Returned home the next day with a total of 10 fuel stops and sore bums (KTM Crosser is not really a touring bike, but its great fun).
